Featuring encouraging words and images for more joy, more love, and more happiness AdviceIGiveMyself postcards are being left around the country, starting 9/12/12, in the hopes of spreading inspiration. A little thing like a postcard in the mail from a friend can really turn a day around. We hope to provide a little push in the world for people to pursue the life they really want. Could a little thing like a postcard bring a smile to a face somewhere in a random coffee shop? Could one sentence or picture motivate someone to finally write the book they’ve been wanting to write, tell someone they love them, or let go of the past? MAYBE. And that is hope enough for me.

Advice I Give Myself 
I saw this postcard of a girl looking out towards the ocean and picked it up because the image caught my eye. There was a saying next to the image that read: Put yourself in as many situations as possible where the thought, “My life is so amazing” spontaneously pops into your head. This really struck a chord with me because I am an artist and every time I head outdoors to paint a scene I truly am in awe of the beauty that surrounds me. Yes, I do feel my life is amazing during these very quiet and peaceful moments. This is a great project that you have started to encourage people to remember what’s important and to enjoy life.
All it took was a postcard with a picturesque view of the ocean and a statement as simple as, ” write your own happy ending” to completely change my mood. Its so easy to lose yourself and become tired and/or discouraged by everyday routines, that you can sometimes forget to dream, hope and strive for more. This postcard reminded me that there’s no reason to settle or become stagnant when there’s so much more to experience and many more goals that need to be met. Thank you for this little reminder. I hope that others are lucky enough to find this postcard on a day when they need to hear it the most. Write your own happy ending.
I was talking to a great friend this morning. We commented on how blessed we are in our lives. Even though things are not perfect and all does not end up as we planned, we are very greatful for what we have. This afternoon I came across this postcard while grabbing lunch at the deli.The main caption was ” My Life is so Amazing” I was curious about the website and was amazed at what I found. Oh you marvelous creature! I am a wandering artist/storyteller and found your postcard in Bloomington Indiana last September 2012.

I carried it with me, brought it home and stashed it in my Big Book of Dreams and Ideas. I just rediscovered it, sitting in my house in London. I am going to post it on to someone who makes me feel this all the time. What you are doing here, it is a beautiful song to the rich humanity inside of all of us, a call to the creativity we all possess.
THANK YOU for being a source of inspiration. I seek out inspiration every day through poetry, art, food, yoga, walking, dancing, singing, playing, quotations, good medicine videos (upworthy / soulpancake on youtube), being with good people, listening to great comedians, saluting the universe. I believe the internal well of inspiration needs constant feeding, it’s a lifetime’s happy work. You have been added to my well.
